Games Guaranteed
Every team, varsity and JV, plays three full games — nobody drives home after a single loss. Both levels play in pools, so every game counts in the standings.

The Tournament
Every spring, Orange County programs load the buses before sunrise and spend the day driving to a tournament an hour and a half away. Battle on Imperial puts that same level of competition in Anaheim Hills — one site, one day, and a short drive home.
Every team, varsity and JV, plays three full games — nobody drives home after a single loss. Both levels play in pools, so every game counts in the standings.
Every game is played on the Canyon High School campus. No satellite fields across town, no 20-minute shuttles between rounds — families park once and watch lacrosse all day.
Split into Varsity and JV divisions so you are matched against teams your own level. We would rather turn a team away than pad a division with lopsided games.

Getting Here
Right off the 91 at Imperial Highway, with the 55 and 57 both a few minutes out. Easy in, easy out, with ample free parking in the high school lot — and no charge for spectators.
Food & Fans
No one is stuck eating a granola bar between games. The shopping center directly across South Imperial Highway covers the whole day — and it is a walk, not a drive.
Fast, cheap, and open early. The default team stop.
Post-game chicken. Expect a line after the 2pm games.
For the parents on the early whistle and the players between rounds.
Rice bowls and family-size trays — easy for feeding a whole roster.
Full grocery store — water by the case, ice, fruit, and cooler refills.
Coaches: the Vons across the street makes it simple to restock water and ice between rounds without leaving the site — worth knowing when you are managing a roster through a full day of games.
Who’s Running It
Battle on Imperial is put on by Canyon lacrosse parents — people with kids on the field and a reason to get this right. Here is who to contact, and what to contact them about.
Event Organizer
Lydie runs the tournament end to end — fields, schedule, officials, and the shape of the day. Years of running parks and recreation programs make her well suited to running three fields at once without the day coming apart. She has two daughters playing lacrosse.
Event Treasurer
Mike handles the money side. Come to him with anything financial — invoices, payments, and the paperwork your district needs. Need a W-9 or an ACH form? He is the one to ask. He played lacrosse in high school and has a daughter playing now.
Event Technology
Baiju keeps the technology working — this site, the entry form, and the live schedule and standings. Ask Baiju if something on the site is broken or your posted schedule does not look right. Baiju has a daughter playing lacrosse.
Partners
Local businesses are what make a day like this possible — and what keep it free for the families in the stands.
Six packages from $250 to $2,500 — field naming rights, PA announcements, your logo on the schedule and this site, vendor space, items in every team packet. 800+ players, coaches and families on one campus for a day.
Vendor booths for sports wear, gear, swag, local businesses and food trucks — a 10′ × 10′ space in front of 800+ players, coaches and families all day. Merchant booths $200, food vendor booths $300.
Registration
Spots are offered in the order requests come in. Submit your team below and a coordinator will follow up with the entry packet and one invoice for the full entry fee — no deposit, no second payment.

| JV | $500 | $600 | $700 |

Per team, not per player, priced by the date you register. Bring both your varsity and your JV and the pair is $50 less. Registration closes February 1.
Open to CIF Division 2 and Division 3 girls' programs. Varsity and JV both welcome, and a program may enter more than one team.

Registration Closed
The field is set and the pools are being drawn. Watch the schedule page for game times.
Hoping to get in? A place can open up if a team withdraws. To go on the waitlist, email battleonimperial@gmail.com or call 714-747-4770 with your school, the levels you would bring and your CIF division.
Fill out the form above. Nothing is owed at this stage and no spot is reserved yet.
A coordinator contacts you in the order requests arrive, with the entry packet and the schedule window.
We send a single invoice for your entry fee — no deposit. Pay by Zelle, check, bank transfer, or card.
Payment is due within 30 days of registering, or 10 days if you register after December 15. Your spot is confirmed once it clears.
We invoice rather than charge a card at sign-up, because most school programs pay through a district purchase order. If a card is easier for your program, the invoice takes one.
Read this before you pay. By tournament day most of the entry fee is already spent — officials, athletic training, field preparation and insurance are all committed in advance — which is what these timelines reflect.
Questions
Submit the form above and a coordinator will contact you with the entry packet. Spots are offered in the order requests are received, and a spot is confirmed once entry is complete.
Battle on Imperial is open to CIF Southern Section Division 2 and Division 3 girls' high school programs. Both varsity and JV teams are welcome, and a program may enter more than one team.
It is built for Orange County, but any Southern California program is welcome — Los Angeles, the Inland Empire and San Diego are all within a morning's drive of Anaheim Hills, and a one-day format means no hotel.
If you are not sure where your program sits, ask before you submit — we would far rather sort it out now than after you have built a Saturday around it.
These are shortened, timed tournament games, so under CIF-SS rules the day counts as one of your allotted tournaments — two toward your 20 allowed. Every game is worked by certified officials.
Entry is priced by the date you register: early bird through October 31, $650 per varsity team and $500 per JV team; regular, November 1 to December 15, $750 and $600; and final registration, December 16 to February 1, $850 and $700. Bringing both your varsity and your JV? The pair is $50 less: $1,100, $1,300 or $1,500. Register by October 31 and your team’s name also goes on the tournament swag.
That covers three guaranteed games for every team, varsity and JV, certified officials, an athletic trainer on site, and free entry and free parking for your families. There are no per-player charges.
Once a coordinator confirms your spot, we send one invoice for the full entry fee — there is no deposit. It is due within 30 days of registering, or within 10 days if you register after December 15.
We invoice rather than ask for a card at sign-up, because most school programs pay through a district purchase order. Invoices can be paid by check, bank transfer, or card, or by Zelle. Need our W-9 for your district's paperwork? Download it here (PDF). For an ACH form or anything else, Mike Labroad, our event treasurer, handles that.
Withdraw more than 60 days out and you get everything back. Between 30 and 60 days, everything less a $250 cancellation fee. Inside 30 days there is no refund unless we fill your spot from the waitlist, in which case the same fee applies. If we cancel before any games are played, you get a full refund.
The full terms are here, including what happens if weather shortens the day.
Entry fees pay for running the tournament: field preparation and striping, certified officials, athletic training coverage, insurance, permits, equipment, and event-day operations. The Canyon High School Lacrosse Booster Club is a volunteer parent organization — the event is run by volunteers, and the fee is set to cover what the day costs to put on.
Every team, varsity and JV, is guaranteed three games. No team plays two games in a row, and your game times are published with the pool draw — until then, the schedule page shows a sample day.
Either way there is no bracket to qualify for and no early exit — every game is a pool game, and pool standings decide the finish. Where a level has pools of three, each team also plays one crossover game against the other three-team pool, and it counts in the pool table like any other game. Weather or safety cancellations are the only exception, and our make-up policy is in the entry packet.
How pools are drawn. We match teams by expected strength, and wherever the field allows we keep teams from the same league apart — you see your league rivals all season, and a tournament day should give you someone new.
Two 20-minute running halves with a four-minute halftime — 44 minutes from first whistle to final horn. The clock runs throughout, and there are no team timeouts, so halftime is the only break in the game.
Games run on a 50-minute cadence, and all three fields run on one master clock. Every game in a slot starts and ends together, so a delay on one field cannot spread to the other two. The six minutes between the final horn and the next first whistle are there to clear the field, and that cushion resets at every slot rather than draining away across the day.
The horn is absolute. It sounds at the end of the slot however the game has gone. A team that takes the field late plays a shorter second half rather than pushing the schedule back, so be ready to go on time. Shake hands quickly, clear the field, and take post-game team talks somewhere off it. Warm up on the sideline rather than waiting for the field.
One exception: if a free position has already been awarded when the horn sounds, the officials on that field may let it be taken. That call is theirs alone.
Pool games can end level. There is no overtime in pool play, and a tie is recorded as a tie. The full rule set, mercy rule and tiebreaker order are in the entry packet.
Three points for a win, one for a tie, none for a loss. If two teams finish level on points, goal difference separates them, then goals scored.
Every game counts toward the pool table, crossover games included — there are no dead games at the end of the day. Live standings are on the standings page and update as results come in.
Scores are kept at the field, and both coaches sign the score sheet before leaving it. A coach who leaves without signing accepts the score table's record as final. That signed sheet is what goes into the standings.
Posting to MaxPreps? Enter the games as tournament games, and record a tie as a tie — there is no overtime.
Check-in opens at 7:15 AM at the main field entrance, and the first whistle is at 8:00 AM. Check in at the tournament table before your first game. Tournament staff are based at that table all day.
Bring both your white and your dark jerseys. The home team wears white and the away team wears dark, and the schedule marks which you are for every game. It can change from one game to the next.
Saturday, March 13, 2027 at Canyon High School. One day, start to finish — check-in from 7:15 AM, first whistle at 8:00 AM, and the last game done by late afternoon, so there is no second day to plan around.
Add it to your calendar, and join the interest list above to get first look at the schedule once pools are drawn.
Yes — a program may enter both a varsity and a JV team, and the form has room for each. Note anything about scheduling the two together and a coordinator will work through it with you. Each team pays its own entry.
